Timeline

I've created this blog to document my recovery from Lyme disease. I'm one of few people who actually saw the tick and got in early for treatment, so I hope this will be a short lived blog.

A timeline of events so far:

Weekend of June 11-12: Camping
Tuesday, June 14: Pulled a tiny (deer?) tick off my hip, bite mark went away in a day, no rash
Saturday, June 18: Attended a wedding, sound sensitivity and headache
Sunday, June 19: Headache
Monday, June 20: Woke with nausea, headache, too tired to do yoga, rash on my hip, saw doctor and was prescribed antibiotics (doxycycline), was incredibly sick that night, 102 fever, chills, achy body
Tuesday, June 21 - Monday, June 27: gradually start to feel better, but still many aches and pains in toes and jaw especially

Notes:
  • In addition to antibiotics, I've cut drastically back on the amount of sugar I consume and reduced the amount of gluten and alcohol I intake. Trying to follow an anti-inflammatory diet.
  • I've tried to keep moving a bit each day. Usually this means a very slow walk around the block (1/4 mile or so).
  • I've e-mailed my doctor about starting an herbal supplement, Teasel root, along with the antibiotic.
